Review of the vivo V25 Pro

The vivo V25 Pro review: a fickle smartphone

The Vivo V series is the company’s ‘mid-range’, youthful and creative range. Earlier this year, the manufacturer introduced the V23 and V23 Pro, which the public was very happy with. A few months later, Vivo skips the number and has already moved on to the V25 family, specifically the V25 Pro.

Features

The smartphone is aimed at the creative public with an impressive camera setup that tends to outperform its price class and focuses on a great selfie experience.

Compared to the older generation, the V25 Pro now features SAMSUNG’s 64-megapixel GW1 lower resolution sensor, which includes EIS and this year’s new OIS. The ultra-wide-angle camera has also been upgraded to 12MP.

As for selfies, Vivo has decided to ditch the second ultra-wide-angle camera and simplify things a bit with a single 32-megapixel Samsung GD2 camera. The autofocus function is also present. This makes the V25 Pro an attractive proposition for the younger generation of enthusiasts and social media creators.

Like its predecessor, the vivo V25 Pro retains a fresh and youthful design and look. Vivo offers a new take on the smartphone’s colour changing back cover trim. You should get the phone in Surfing Blue for that extra visual flair. If it doesn’t fit, there’s the Starlight Black option.

Additionally

The V25 Pro also gets a few other minor performance improvements over its predecessor, such as the new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset – a slight upgrade to the Dimensity 1200. The V25 Pro also gets a faster 120Hz display, a bigger battery and faster charging. The device comes with one of the Vivo FlashCharge 80W chargers. The phone won’t be able to use the full capacity of said charger, but will instead use the 11V output characteristics at 6A – 66W at the peak of the charge.

Supplied with

The box contains a sturdy USB Tyle-A to Type-C cable. You’ll need to keep an eye on it as well as the charger, as both are non-standard and essential for charging the V25 Pro at full speed.

Vivo has been quite generous with the V25 Pro accessory package. Included in the box is a nice, soft but thick and transparent TPU case. There’s also a pair of headphones with a built-in microphone. By the way, the headphones have a 3.5mm jack, which the vivo V25 doesn’t have. However, there is a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.
